Top 10 Unusual Places in Ukraine · Place 3 — Odesa Catacombs

Odesa Catacombs are a vast network of artificial underground passages and labyrinths beneath Odesa and its surroundings, primarily created due to limestone extraction for the city's construction. Part of the catacombs is used as museum and tourist routes, and exploration of the network continues to this day.

⚡ Their total length is estimated to be approximately 2,500 kilometers, making the Odesa Catacombs one of the longest underground labyrinths in the world.

📖 During World War II, the Nerubaysk Catacombs housed the Museum of Partisan Glory, associated with the underground and partisan movement in the area.

The network has at least one official tourist site in the center of Odesa at 2nd Rozumovsky Lane, 3.
