Kamianets-Podilskyi Fortress is a historical fortification monument in Kamianets-Podilskyi, associated with the Museum-Reserve. It stands in a picturesque location above the canyon of the Smotrych River, in the old part of the city.
⚡ The fortress is situated on a rocky peninsula, surrounded on three sides by the deep canyon of the Smotrych River.
📖 According to archaeological studies, the fortifications at the site of the fortress were established in the late 12th to the first half of the 13th century; the complex further developed over the centuries and became one of the most powerful fortification complexes in Ukraine.
According to some sources, the fortress has 13 towers on the upper terrace, as well as a Water Tower in the canyon of the Smotrych River.
