Oleksandr Dovzhenko began working at the Odesa Film Studio of VUFKU in 1926, and it was in Odesa that he transitioned to film directing. His first films here were "Vasya the Reformer," "Berry of Love," and "The Diplomatic Courier's Bag."
⚡ In 1927, Dovzhenko created "Zvenyhora" in Odesa, which is considered the beginning of Ukrainian national cinema.
📖 In 1926, Dovzhenko arrived in Odesa from Kharkiv and was invited to work as a director at the film studio; he initially joined the work on "Vasya the Reformer," and later began directing his own films.
Sources also indicate that from 1926 to 1928 he worked at the Odesa studios of VUFKU, and later moved to Kyiv.
