In Lviv, there are places that you recognize not only from travel photos. One of them is the Church of St. Andrew the First-Called of the UGCC at Soborna Square, 3A, where part of the clip by Khrystyna Soloviy and Serhiy Zhadan for the song "Heart" was filmed.
What is known about the shooting
The clip was published on October 20, 2023. Most scenes were shot inside the church: in the video, you can see its decorations, as well as Khrystyna Soloviy in a red dress. Other episodes were created on the streets of Lviv, particularly on Ruska Street.
The director of the clip was Viktor Skuratovsky. According to the authors' concept, the church was meant to convey a sense of beauty that exists beyond time and people.
Why the controversy arose
After the video was released, the parish of St. Andrew of the Basilian Fathers requested its removal from YouTube and social media. The priests were outraged, particularly by scenes with women kissing: the parish stated that the content of the clip contradicts Christian morality.
Khrystyna Soloviy and Serhiy Zhadan publicly responded to the accusations. This reaction made the clip even more noticeable in the media, although for Lviv, it is interesting as an example of how modern music uses historical urban locations.
