Did you know? · №44 — Franz Liszt lived in Kyiv for over six months
Franz Liszt was a Hungarian composer and virtuoso pianist. At the beginning of 1847, he arrived in Kyiv for a tour and later spent several months at the Voronintsi estate in Podillia.
⚡ Liszt planned to stay in Kyiv for two weeks, but ultimately spent over six months in Ukraine.
📖 After meeting Princess Karolina Wittgenstein, Liszt went to her estate in Voronintsi and stayed there for about a month — longer than previously thought. He later returned there after his tour and spent several more months at the estate.
In Kyiv, Liszt gave three concerts; one of them, in the university hall, was a charity event.
