British Airways launches short-haul flash sale

British Airways opens short sale: European flights from £49

If you've been eyeing a short trip from London, now might be a great time to check British Airways' fares. The airline has put over 200,000 seats on sale for flights between November 2026 and March 2027 — although the Christmas period is not included in the offer.

Where you can fly

The lowest advertised fares start from £49 one way, when considering the round trip ticket price. Among the destinations from London Heathrow are Madrid, Stockholm, Dublin, Malaga, Oslo, Naples, Luxembourg, Billund, Manchester, Newcastle, Jersey, Guernsey, and Inverness.

On certain routes, the price may be even lower: specifically, during an independent check, flights to Madrid were found from £38. So don’t settle for the first option you see — for the same destination, prices can vary depending on dates and availability.

When to go and who can take advantage

The promotional dates cover periods from November 11 to December 16, 2026, and from January 5 to March 17, 2027. Flights within this offer must start and end in the UK, and residents of the country can take advantage of the sale.

Tickets must be booked by 23:59 British time on September 21, 2026. Flights from Gatwick are not included in the main offer, so for the lowest fares, it’s best to check Heathrow first.

Should you hurry

Yes, if your dates are flexible. The best prices depend on the remaining seats, and the holiday period at the end of December is excluded, so the offer is more suitable for autumn, winter, or early spring travel.

Before payment, compare several months and nearby dates in the British Airways search. The official promotion has limitations, but cheap options sometimes appear on routes that don’t seem to be the main participants in the sale.

If you live in Westminster or near London and are ready to fly from Heathrow, this promotion could very well turn a spontaneous European weekend into a real plan — where will you head first?
