In the evening, the water is combined with light and music accompaniment. In previous seasons, the light and music shows at the central fountains lasted until 11:00 PM, and the lighting was turned on in the evening hours. So during the day, it is rather a pleasant urban detail, while in the evening it becomes a place for a short photo walk or a meeting with friends.
When to Come
It’s best to plan your visit for the evening: then the fountains look more expressive, and the music and lighting create the right atmosphere. Previously, the complex operated from Tuesday to Sunday, leaving Monday for maintenance work.
At the same time, the current schedule may depend on the season and city decisions. In 2026, a full season for the central fountains was not announced: high-tech light and music complexes may not be launched, while individual fountains in the center operate on a special schedule. Therefore, consider this location primarily as a beautiful place for a walk rather than a guaranteed daily show.

Yes, if you are already walking along Khreshchatyk and want to end your route by the water. The location is especially suitable for a leisurely evening stroll, taking photos, and a short pause in the very center of the city.
It is not worth traveling from afar just for a large music show if you are not sure it is happening that day. But even without music, Maidan, the illuminated bowls of the fountains, and the evening atmosphere of the center remain a good reason to walk this route.
