VINOKHID in Kyiv: Is it worth going to the garage wine festival?
If you enjoy discovering new flavors, talking to winemakers in person, and spending a leisurely day — VINOKHID could be a great option for the Kyiv agenda. The festival will take place on May 23-24, 2026, starting at 11:00 AM, at Lumen Living space on Kozatska Street, 11, near the Demiivska metro station.
What is this event?
VINOKHID is dedicated to Ukrainian craft winemaking and small wineries. This year, 25 winemakers are expected to present their wines at the festival, including honorary participants 46 Parallel and Big Wines. It’s more of an opportunity to meet different authors and their approaches than just to drop by for a standard tasting.
The organizers promise the chance to personally communicate with winemakers, listen to the stories behind the wines, and try various samples. For those who are just starting to understand wine, this is especially convenient: you can ask simple questions without unnecessary formality and immediately compare styles and flavors.
What will be at the festival?
In addition to tastings, there will be a food court, cheese, and snack area. The atmosphere will be enhanced by DJs and musicians, so the event is aimed not only at wine enthusiasts but also at those who simply want to spend a pleasant day with friends.
A separate interesting part is the audience choice competition. Here, the wines will be judged by the visitors themselves, not a professional jury, so you will be able not only to taste but also to influence the choice of the favorite. A charity wine auction to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine is also on the program.
How much does it cost?
A one-day ticket costs 450 hryvnias, a two-day ticket — 800 hryvnias. The price includes a festival glass. If you want to leisurely visit all the tasting points and return to the most interesting wines, the two-day format looks more practical.
Is it worth going? Yes, if you are interested in Ukrainian producers, craft products, and casual communication. However, if you do not consume alcohol, the event may be less exciting, although the gastronomic area and music program still leave room for a pleasant evening.
If you go, it’s better not to rush: start with small tastings, note the names of the wines you liked, and leave time for conversations with the producers. Also, remember about responsible consumption and safe return home.
So, will you try to discover Ukrainian garage wine this time?
