The Opera and Ballet Theatre in Kyiv: Is it Worth Going?

What to Know Before Your Visit
The theater is located in Kyiv at Volodymyrska Street, 50. Tickets can be purchased online or at the box office, which operates Wednesday to Saturday from 11:00 to 18:00, and on Sunday from 11:00 until the start of the performance; the box office is closed from 12:30 to 13:30.
It's better to arrive early for the performance: the audience is allowed into the building no earlier than 45 minutes before the start, and after the performance begins, entry to the hall may be restricted until intermission. Sports and beachwear, including shorts, tank tops, and flip-flops, are prohibited by theater rules, so it's advisable to choose neat casual or festive attire.
If you want not only a performance but also to peek behind the scenes, the theater offers tours from the foyer to backstage. Such a tour lasts an hour and a half, and a ticket for the performance is not included in its cost.
