October 1927 — "Vanka and the Avenger"
On October 12, 1927, filming began on the first film — "Vanka and the Avenger" at the still unfinished Kyiv film studio; the shooting took place during the construction of the studio.
This was the first film whose shooting started at the Kyiv film studio, which grew into the future Oleksandr Dovzhenko Film Studio; this event is often mentioned as the beginning of the history of the main film scene in Kyiv.
